About
Wuju is a curated browser of example games. Pick a champion, pick a role, and see roughly ten Diamond+ ranked games picked out of a much larger sample for how well they show that champion being piloted — close fights carried hard by one player, not stat-padded stomps.
How scoring works
Every game gets a score from 0–100, shown as the number and bar next to each row. It blends two weighted pieces, then applies a rank multiplier:
- Closeness (45% of the score). Games that stayed contested — small gold swings, more lead changes, went the distance — score higher than blowouts. A game that was a stomp from minute 10 is filtered out entirely.
- Carry (55% of the score). How much the player drove the win: damage share, kill participation, gold and CS per minute, solo kills, objective participation — weighted differently per role (a support isn't scored on CS). Each stat is converted to a percentile against other games on that same champion and role, so a good jungle performance is judged against other junglers, not against mid laners.
- Player quality (a multiplier). A small penalty based on the player's rank at the time — Challenger games count in full, Diamond games are shaded down slightly. Everyone in the dataset is Diamond or above.
In short: score = (0.45 × closeness + 0.55 × carry) × rank, scaled to 100. The top ten scores per champion and role are what you see, capped at two games per player so one grinder can't fill an entire list.
Badges
Pills on each row flag notable things about a game:
- OTP — this player shows up 3+ times on this champion in the dataset.
- Close Game — 3 or more gold-lead changes.
- Comeback — won after being down 5,000+ gold.
- Carry — top-decile damage share for the role.
- Damage God — dealt 35%+ of the team's damage outright.
- Solo Kills — 3 or more unassisted kills.
- Objective Lord — top-decile dragon/baron/herald participation.
- Frontline — top-decile damage taken share.
- Vision God — top-decile vision score.
- Perfect KDA — one death or fewer.
- Marathon — 38+ minute game.
- CS Machine — top 5% CS per minute for the role.
Replays
You can pull the replay of any recent game straight from the League client — no third-party tooling required. Search the player's Riot ID, open their Match History, find the game, and click Download.
The catch: League replays only play back on the client version they were recorded on, and your account has to be on the same server region as the game. Once Riot ships a new patch, older replay files stop opening in the live client, even though the stats and build here stay accurate forever. Games still on the current patch are marked as replayable; older ones are labeled stale with a link to the match history page instead.
Regions
Rankings are scoped to one server region at a time — pick yours in the header. That isn't a filter for convenience: a replay can only be downloaded by a client on the same region as the game, so a global leaderboard would mostly list games you can't watch. Regions with nothing published yet aren't offered at all, and your choice is remembered in your browser.
Because every patch resets what the client can download, a region's lists start short after each patch and fill up over the following days. Short lists are shown exactly as they are — never padded out with worse games to reach ten.
Data source
Every game comes from Riot's official match and league APIs, restricted to Diamond+ ranked solo queue. A scraper scores finished games and writes the ranked ones to a database; these pages are prerendered from it and refresh themselves every few minutes. There's no live lookup and no player search — nothing here queries Riot when you load a page.
